Your Intuition Is Calling. Are You Listening?

Your Intuition Is Calling. Are You Listening?

Oct 16, 2015

Confession: I’m currently obsessed with Rebecca Rosen’s books. The one living on my bed stand at this moment is called Spirited: Unlock your Psychic Self and Change Your Life. I totally devour books like these—especially the ones on channeling, mostly because I like making friends with Spirit Guides.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve believed in the Spirit World, though my faith was strongest when I was little. I believed in a higher force who I called God, and my faith was unwavering in the goodness of life.  And surprisingly, I had no complaints.  My life rolled on perfectly and during the rough times that we all have, I called upon the higher divine, pled for help and then surrendered.  All in all, it was a great system, stunning in its simplicity and endlessly comforting.

But then I grew up.

Somewhere along the way, I lost the ability to connect with the higher force.  I became too engrossed in logistics, favoring science over spirituality.  It made sense. My time was spent studying to become—and then eventually working as—a therapist. It was only natural for me to research, research, and then (you guessed it), research…until research lost its flavour.

There are synchronicities and gut feelings that science simply can’t explain.  It was during times like this when I went exploring my own realm and consciousness. Trusting my intuition, especially during times when I felt lost and hopeless, was absolutely key to developing my own inner wisdom.  I can say with full confidence that when I lead with my intuition, I’m never guided in the wrong direction.

Ultimately, intuition feels like a muscle to me.  The more you use it, the stronger it becomes. There are many ways to tap into your inner wisdom and to live your life from a core place of knowing—the best kind of knowing.

So all of that said, here are 5 fives ways that you can bring guidance into your life for some intuitive healing:

  1. Meditate: I know you’ve heard me say it time and time again, so enough said. (But seriously, meditate.)
  2. Journal: There’s something about the act of writing that pulls stuff out from deep within that you didn’t even know existed.  How powerful is that?
  3. Spirit Guidance: I’m completely addicted to oracle cards and recently bought my kids a set, too. (For the record, they just LOVE their animal spirit wisdom cards.) There’s something magical about them, and I encourage you to ask a question and see what comes up.
  4. Crystals: The vibrational energies of healing crystals really compliment everything, plain and simple. What I love about crystals is that I can actually see, feel and hold them while meditating or journaling.  I like tangible.  As an added bonus? They’re great for the home décor and jewelry collection. (Wink.)
  5. Space Clearing: Every now and then, it’s important to remove toxic energy from your home through rituals like sage smudging or fire clearing. (It’s a ceremony called “havan”, which has always been a part of my life growing up.)  Such rituals remove negative energy, open up space to bring in positivity and allow you to connect with spirit energy.

When all’s said and done, your intuition is calling, tugging on your subconscious and urging you towards exactly where you need to be. Let’s lean in. Let’s learn. Let’s listen.

After spending some time with each strategy, which is your favorite? Jot it down in your journal so you always have that go-to path straight to your intuition.
